ABOUT STRAYS AND OTHERS
Strays and Others is a nonprofit, no-kill, all-volunteer group working to match homeless animals with adoptive homes. They also direct community-based programs to educate and assist the public. They receive close to 5,000 calls a year from people seeking assistance on animal-related issues.
Since it was founded in 1985, Strays and Others has provided medical care and vaccinations, along with the spaying and neutering of more than 4,200 animals. They operate a low-cost spay / neuter program, and handle referrals on issues such as finding a lost pet.
Strays and Others is always seeking caring volunteers. They need people to care for animals at the shelter, work in the office and assist with fundraising and event planning. They also need help with public relations, community outreach, grant writing, photography and more.
Foster homes are also needed. People who care can make a difference in an animal's life by providing a temporary home while the shelter seeks a permanent one.
Additional programs by Strays and Others include emergency rescue and humane education.
Strays and Others is tax-exempt and 501(c)(3) organization, and relies on donations.
