ABOUT TANGER STUDIO

Pat Tanger is an award-winning artist offering a range of original pieces including landscapes, seascapes and portraits. Pet portraits are a special area of focus, and indeed a passion. Using photographs, Pat creates one-of-a-kind pieces honoring our special companion animals, whether they are with us or have passed.

An artist and animal lover her entire life, she recalls drawing animals since an early age. Her father–also an artist–would take her to a local farm so she could sketch the horses.

As an adult, both her love animals and art remain. She shares, "The animal companions with whom we share our lives mean the world to us. They become part of our family. Painting an animal's portrait, capturing their unique features and personality on paper, is an extremely rewarding endeavor." And that is evident in the pieces she creates.

Pat uses photographs pet guardians provide, working to create a piece that captures the unique personality of the animal, as well as the moment and mood in which the picture was snapped.

These portraits are hand painted, one-of-a-kind, signed originals. They are not digital or computer generated images, and Pat does not sell prints or reproductions of her work. Purchasing a portrait for yourself or a pet parent in your life is a distinct way to cherish a special companion animal forever, whether he or she is living or passed.

To set up the creation of a pet portrait, simply decide whether you would like a "head and shoulders” or a “full body” portrait. Second, think about a medium and a size. If you are not sure which route to take, just Contact Pat and she will guide you through the process.

When a portrait is ready, the buyer can either pick it up at Tanger Studio in Connecticut, or have it shipped. Gift certificates are also available.

Pat Tanger has won several awards for her work, including the “Best of Show “ award from the Newington Art League Members Show in 2008. She holds memberships with the Connecticut Pastel Society, the Wethersfield Art League and the Newington Art League.
